This week, Barack Obama told his goons to go to congressional town-hall meetings and support Democrat Congressmen and Senators against the very upset mainstream voters who are showing up and questioning their elected officials.

Obama's thugs in the unions, particularly the SEIU (Service Employees International Union) have been going to these things in their purple shirts and harassing, and in some cases, getting violent with conservative activists. (See yesterday's post)

Even though the left has gone out there and attacked mainstream voters, and acting like Hitler's Brownshirt thugs, voters don't seem to be intimidated overall. They are out there QUESTIONING congressmen, they are out there INVOLVED, and they are paying ATTENTION.

One year ago, do you remember that "Dissent Is Patriotic" bumper stickers? Apparently it is not patriotic anymore. And if you do dissent, someone will forward you to flag@whitehouse.gov, the White House email address for snitches.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

America is sticking up for itself in the face of politicians who are NOT willing to listen to them, and who are trying to force government healthcare down our throats. Lackawanna Deep Six

So the New York Times/Associated Press came out with a story today about how the Bush Administration came oh-so-close to sending U.S. military troops into the Buffalo, NY suburb of Lackawanna to arrest the group of Al Queda terrorists who later became known as the Lackawanna Six.

The AP article headline is written as if it actually happened.Report: Bush mulled sending troops into Buffalo.

He didn't mull it, it was a turf war between different departments and agencies. The fact that it didn't happen says it all. Bush administration officials were the ones who "mulled it".

The biggest thing to remember about this is that post-September 11th, all cards were on the table. Even using the US military in a major American city. Would it have been beneficial to do so? Probably not, especially since it violates Posse Comitatus. And since it wouldn't have been beneficial, it didn't happen. So why is this a news story? Who knows. It happened seven years ago.

Seven years ago when we actually had a backbone against Islamic extremists.

So News 4 in Buffalo goes out and talks to a Muslim for his reaction:

We spoke to the President of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Dr. Qazi, in Buffalo today by phone.

"My initial reaction is I can't believe it because it's totally unconstitutional I don't believe it," said Qazi.

But according to the New York Times article some of President Bush's advisers - including Vice President Dick Cheney - disagreed in certain cases. The officials apparently argued it would have been legal because it was an issue of national security.

Dr. Qazi continued, "Certainly this should be a concern to any American."

Riigghtt. Those six guys in Lackawanna were just as innocent as the farmer's daughter! The military could come and knock down any American's door at any time!!

To tell you the truth, I'm more worried about Obama doing it than I ever was about Bush.

Another Palin Smear

Have you heard the latest Palin smear by the MSM? They never stop... and it doesn't matter how small, how stupid, or how ridiculous. If it has Sarah Palin's name attached to it, they jump all over it.

The New York Slimes is now reporting that Sarah Palin's hair is falling out.

"Friends worried that she appeared anxious and underweight. Her hair had thinned to the point where she needed emergency help from her hairdresser and close friend, Jessica Steele." Here is a link to the story.

Ms Steele had the following to say on Twitter: "I will continue 2 tell people: I never said Sarah Palin's hair is thinning! The Left is desperate to attack Sarah Palin with stupid lies!!!"

And our friends at MSNBC are claiming it's all just too stressful for Sarah. Here is a link to that nonsense as well.

As with everything else Palin, this has taken off like wildfire and a Google search of "Palin hair thinned" will return nearly half a million hits. Even if it were true, would it be newsworthy?

I guess it's better than reporting on the train wreck that is our economy.

Why Obama's support of the former Honduran president shows just who he is

Two weeks ago, President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras tried to skirt that country's constitution by trying to rewrite it to keep himself in power after his mandated single, four-year term limit expired.

A leftist ally of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, and democratically elected in 2005, Zelaya wanted to change the term-limit provision - even though it is one of eight provisions in the constitution that are specifically prohibited from change by the president or congress. However, Zelaya couldn't be bothered with such formalities as "democracy", so he decided to decree a national referendum instead.

The Honduran Constitution states that anyone who tries to bypass its laws and try to continuously re-elect a president, or "incite, promote, or aid in the continuation or reelection of the president" - that person will lose their citizenship.

The outcry of the Honduran people in protest was immediate, and the Honduran Supreme Court decided that Zelaya should be arrested and removed from office. With the support of the Honduran Congress, the military did just that: storming the presidential residence, disarming the presidential guards, and removing Zelaya.

Now President Obama, along with other leftists, including Hugo Chavez are decrying the "coup", and insisting that Zelaya be reinstated.

One Word: Ridiculous.

The move by the military was not a "coup". A coup would be if the military took over the country despite it's constitution. However, the military was ordered by the Supreme Court to arrest the president IN DEFENSE of the country's constitution. So how can that be a coup? When it is for democracy and the will of the people versus the tyranny of a potential Chavista Thug Dictator, that's when.

Why is America, more specifically Obama's government, supporting his reinstatement? It is a good question to ask, and one that has a potentially scary side to it. Could it be that Obama completely agrees with Zelaya's move? Does he agree or disagree that a country's constitution should come above all else? Including a power grab by a president? Does he believe in the abolishment of constitutional provisions if they do not suit the needs of the people in power?

Ask your yourself these questions, and you might have an answer.

I'm sure that the jihadists, North Koreans, Chinese, and the Russians will take that into account. Hell, they already know that Obama is easy to push around. Why wouldn't he be? He doesn't believe in American exceptionalism, so why wouldn't he give them what they want?

When thoroughly questions by the leftist Daniel Ortega at the Summit of the Americas about the U.S. role in the Bay of Pigs, Obama responded "I was three months old at the time". So did history begin at Obama's birth? That must have been "year zero". That means my mom, born in 1953 according to the Gregorian calendar, was really born in 8 BO - Before Obama.

I don't want a President who is "hip". A lot of people do, and that scares the crap out of me. Maybe Megan McCain likes it, but instead of being hip maybe the President should concentrate on national security instead.

If Only Taxes Were Like Credit Cards

This from USA Today: "President Obama pledged Thursday to support legislation that protects credit card borrowers from unfair rate increases and cracks down on issuers who engage in deceptive lending practices."

Maybe the President should support legislation that protects taxpayers from unfair tax increases and cracks down on politicians who engage in deceptive legislation practices. Just a thought...

No one forced these people to sign up for these cards, did they? No one forced these people to make purchases they could't afford, did they? They signed a contract, agreeing to the terms, and then had no trouble going out and buying a new 50" flat screen television. But now that times are tough, they suddenly can't make those credit card payments. And now they're paying fees because they went over their credit limit or made their payments late. AND?

I'm so sick of this. People buy a house they can't afford and suddenly they're entitled to "assistance" to stay in a house they can't afford. People run up their credit cards and suddenly the credit card companies have to bend over backwards to help these people. Start throwing around words like "deceptive lending practices" and "fine print" and "unfair rate increases" and suddenly the mortgage and credit card companies seem criminal and predatory. Credit cards aren't free money, people. You really do have to pay that money back.

Does no one believe in personal responsibility anymore? Be responsible for a change. Exercise some self discipline and don't buy crap you can't afford!

In honor of Earth Day, I encourage everyone to leave your lights on, leave your car idling, and print as many documents as you can!

Did you know that for every gallon of gas you use you produce about 19 pounds of carbon dioxide? Just think of all the plants we can feed with that much CO2! After all, most plants will stop growing when the CO2 level decreases below 150 ppm and even at 220 ppm, plant growth is slowed significantly. We need to do our part to save the environment!

I calculated my carbon footprint this morning and my estimated greenhouse gas emissions are 34 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent per year. I am above the U.S. national average so I feel good about what I'm doing for our environment.

This has to be an April Fools joke right? Well, knowing how this stuff works...probably not. I am convinced this is true - a Florida woman calls 911 and tells the operator that she's locked inside her car and she can't get out...well, here's the story from the Orlando Sentinel:

A woman called Kissimmee police to say she was locked inside her car at the Walgreen's on John Young Parkway near Poinciana.

"My car will not start. I'm locked inside my car," the unidentified woman said.

"Nothing electrical works. And it's getting very hot in here, and I'm not feeling well."

The dispatcher asked the woman if she was able to manually pull the lock up on the door.

The woman said she would try, and then, she said, "Yes, I got the door open."

Has it gotten that bad in society where we've forgotten how to unlock our vehicle if it has power locks and the power doesn't work? It's happened in a few other places as well. In June 2008, a woman called Orem (Utah) Police to have them help her get out of her car. From KUTV:

When police arrived, they found the woman sitting in the car, unable to get herself out. She couldn’t hear the officers instructions through the rolled-up windows so she motioned to them to call her on her cell phone, according to police.

Once officers were able to talk to the woman on the phone, they were able to tell her how to manually operate the slide lock mechanism on the inside door panel to open the door and free herself.

Maybe it's just me, or have we lost our minds?

You know, we live in Orwellian times.

The AIG thing really bothers me. Does it bother me that they recieved bailouts? Absolutely. Does it bother me that certain people there recieved bonuses? Not really. They were contractual bonuses that were put in place prior to the bailout, and they were even protected by the Stimulus legislation (thanks to Sen. Chris Dodd -D Connecticut). The bonuses were known to Congress and the Administration way ahead of time (way before they said they knew), and then when they are paid out, all hell breaks loose on Capitol Hill. The head of AIG gets called up there and read the riot act.

This is what was wrong with the bailouts in the first place. The government has no business telling private business their business. But, AIG is no longer private, as 80 percent of it is owned by the government. Whether or not these people deserved these bonuses (they probably did), is not a big deal to me. The amount of money they got was miniscule compared to the bailouts overall, and very miniscule compared to the amount of money that the Obama Administration and the Democrat Congress is stating they are going to spend on enlarging government. Not only that, Congress just gave themselves a raise, and they were the ones who protected the bonuses in the bailout legislation anyway!

It's all Kabuki Theater folks. Designed to take you concentration of the REAL crooks - Congress and the Administration.

Protest Facebook Jihad

The David Horowitz Freedom Center is calling upon all supporters of freedom of speech and of Israel to join in its protest against Facebook, the Internet social networking site. Facebook has allowed a group of hackers who openly support the terrorist group Hizballah to take over and destroy what was once the largest pro-Israel site on Facebook. In a blunt act of internet censorship, Facebook added insult to injury by disabling the account of that site’s creator, 14-year-old Todd Snider.

Snider established the Facebook group called “I Wonder How Quickly I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who Support Israel,” in July 2008. By February 2009 it was Facebook’s largest pro-Israel site, with over 180,000 members.

But on February 15, 2009, Snider’s Facebook group was hacked and destroyed by a pro-Hizballah group calling itself “Lebanese Shee’a Hackers.” The hackers completely erased the original site content and replaced it with threatening, obscenity-laced pro-jihad, anti-Israel propaganda datelined Bint Jbeil, South Lebanon: “DEAR ADMINS, DON’T WASTE MY AND YOUR TIME , LEAVE THIS GROUP ITS BETTER FOR BOTH THIS IS THE LAST TIME ILL EDIT YOU INFO , NEXT TIME…”

Facebook allowed the hackers to destroy Snider’s site, answering his repeated entreaties for help with blandly evasive form letters.

And now, after the appearance on March 6 of an article about the incident in FrontPageMagazine.com (“Facebook Jihad” by Robert Spencer), Facebook has taken the additional step of disabling Snider’s account altogether, capitulating to the jihadi hackers and accusing Snider himself of “misusing” Facebook’s “features.”

Facebook’s outrageous action is not only an assault on free speech and internet freedom and a breach of its own social networking protocols, but also appeasement of a group of hackers who have invaded Facebook’s space and who openly avow their support for the jihad terrorist group Hizballah.

We therefore urge all Facebook members who oppose Islamist terror and internet censorship to contact the site administrators through the Facebook contact form, and all others to join us in protesting against Facebook’s outrageous behavior by writing to abuse@facebook.com.

This weekend was a good one for conservatism. On Friday February 27th, various "Chicago Tea Parties" were held across the nation in cities such as DC, St. Louis, Seattle, and Houston. The parties were a partial response to Rick Santelli's rant on CNBC I previously covered. The Tea Party protests were against big government spending and President Obama's "stimulus" package. So the Academy Awards were last night. Sean Penn went and ranted that the supporters of California Proposition 8 were "supporting hatred."

They were?

Anyway, I'm sitting here watching Bear Grylls kill a skunk with his bare hands and wondering how ol'e Sean Penn would far in hand-to-hand combat with him. Probably not too well.

In a story that interweaves love (since it was recently Valentine's Day) and economics, a businessman in China decided that it was no longer economically feasible to have five mistresses. So, in a cost-cutting measure, he decided to have a contest...well...I'll let the CNN story tell it:

A married Chinese businessman who could no longer afford five mistresses held a competition to decide which one to keep. But the contest took a fatal turn when one of the women, eliminated for her looks, drove the man and the four other competitors off a cliff, Chinese media reported.

The spurned mistress died and the other five were injured, the reports said.

Police initially thought the car had plummeted off a mountain road in eastern China on December 6 by accident. Then they learned of the contest through a letter the dead woman had left behind, the Shanghai Daily newspaper said.

It must have been Bush's fault.

Maybe you need a new car, or really want a new big screen TV? Credit card bills? Do you have some of those you would like someone to pay off for you?

Fear not! Our new President is traveling the country making dreams come true! I'm getting my wish list together right now for when he has a town hall meeting here in Raleigh. My student loans top my list and then next in line is a new truck. I want a GMC, so I'll even be doing my part to stimulate the auto industry. Get your wish lists together and we can just email them to the White House... that way he can get started on them sooner.

Seriously. Is this for real? If you watched the coverage of President Obama's trip to Florida yesterday you'd be as disgusted as I am. From the student working at McDonald's for 4 years begging for more benefits to the homeless woman asking for a place to live, we're in a sad state of affairs folks. When people start begging the government to take care of their every desire, we're in trouble. Tired of getting crappy benefits from McDonald's? GET A BETTER JOB! That's the joy of living in a country that provides you the freedom to make your own choices. You're free to leave any time you want and find another place of employment. McDonald's doesn't have to give you a darn thing, whether you've worked there for four days or four years. I bet the homeless woman would love to have your job at McDonald's... or would she? I guess if President Obama can give her a place to live for free, where she doesn't have to pay a $1000 mortgage that she can't afford (thanks to Barney Fife, er Frank), that's probably the easier option for her, and prefered as well. And thanks to President Obama, the homeless woman is no longer homeless and the student now has offers for an internship. President Obama is here to save us all! All we have to do is ask!

Watch this video from yesterday of a woman admitting her love for our President. This stuff is creepy. Look at her eyes, and look at the faces of those around the President. People are crying, and the way they look at him is just scary. They worship this man. It all makes me ill.

Not in Stimulus-land Anymore

We all know the so-called "stimulus" is just a giveaway of money to liberal interest groups. But there is something more sinister buried in the pages of the bill that neither party seems opposed to. It is called National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, and it will monitor everything your doctor does to "ensure" reduced costs and will even track your health records!

This according to Betsy McCaughey on Bloomberg.com:

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (pages 445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”

This is pretty scary stuff, if you ask me. The goverment will have my medical records, and be able to tell my doctor what to do? We are Slouching towards Gomorrah, more and more so each day. What are fair-minded citizens doing? Are we that apathetic that we are willing to forgo our freedoms in this manner? What the hell?

I thought it was patriotic to pay more taxes. Isn't that what Vice President Biden said last year? "It's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut." If that's the case, why are so many Democrats not paying theirs? Only when they're potentially being appointed to a cabinet position in President Obama's "new era of responsibility" government do they suddenly realize they may have forgotten to report some income here and there.

Remember poor 'Joe the Plumber'... he dared question The Messiah about his tax plan. The media tore him to pieces because after digging into his tax records they found out he owed $1200 to the state of Ohio.

Yet Daschle's $120,000 "mistake" is forgiven because "nobody's perfect" and it was "unintentional". Back in 1998 Daschle himself reminded us that "Tax cheaters cheat us all. The IRS should enforce our laws to the letter." I guess that applies to everyone but you? Of course if Geithner can be nominated to oversee the IRS and he has a tax problem too, Daschle should have no problem becoming our next health secretary. At least the latest tax cheat withdrew her nomination.

So where is the media? Where is the outrage? And where is the IRS? WHERE? Tax evasion is a felony. A conviction can carry a prison sentence of up to five years and/or fines up to $100,000. Imagine if this administration was Republican. The media would be screaming for prosecution.

It's a disgusting double standard.

The Reason for the Name

A lot of people have been asking me what does "don't drink the Kool-Aid mean" ? Good question.

In the 1950s, the Reverend Jim Jones starts his own cult known as the "People's Temple" in Indiana. Jones was a self-appointed minister, whose socialist cult grew and then in the 1970s moved them to the country of Guyana, in South America. It is there that the "People's Temple Agricultural Project" was formed. Informally, this project was known as "Jonestown".

A U.S. congressman came to visit on an investigative mission in 1978, bringing along a few reporters. Jones ordered gunmen to visit this congressman at a nearby airstrip, killing him and four others. Jones then ordered his flock to drink cyanide-laced Kool-Aid. Over 900 people died that day, either from cyanide poisoning or from being shot by his henchmen. 33 people survived.

Hypocrisy At Its Finest

One of the most annoying things about Liberals is how hypocritical they are about pretty much everything. Even before the election, I found myself saying, "Can you imagine if a Republican did that?"

This most recent example just takes the cake.

President Obama and the rest of the left-wing nuts preach about global warming and what we must do to save the planet. In fact, according to Al Gore, we have less than 7 years to enjoy planet Earth before we're all scorched to death, so we better act fast! President Obama is helping to cut back on his carbon footprint by turning up the heat in the Oval office. Apparently, if you're from Hawaii, it's OK to turn up the heat. After all, he's the President and he's cold. Oh, and go ahead and take your jacket off too... get comfortable.

But hey, don't the rest of you go turning your heat up! Remember this from May of last year?

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

You must do as he says and not what he does. Leading by example... outstanding.

Awesome, Death by Firing Squad

I think it is very legitimate to use firing squads. It's quicker, more humane, and it is dramatic - which may be the most important point. People who may be want to commit murder would think twice about committing the crime if they thought they would see the receiving end of a few rifles.

I read somewhere, or saw it somewhere (History Channel?) that in the firing squad, they give one of the members a blank in their rifle, without telling them which member has the blank. This way, each member of the squad can believe that they were the ones who had the blank, and this would alleviate any anxiety that one may have about taking another person's life. Hmm. Interesting.

Good for Ford

Ford Motor Company announced it lost almost $6 billion, but it won't seek federal aid. Good for them! If they did get federal aid, the government would almost certainly try to run the company, much like they are going to do with General Motors and Chrysler.

As we creep towards more and more socialism, I get the sense that Americans don't have a clue what is going on. All of this socialism has been tried before, and it has failed. Look at how stagnant European countries are! Look at the fate of the Soviet Union, for crying out loud. People should study the similarities between our current economic and political climate and compare it historically to the Wiemar Republic. Don't know what the Wiemar Republic is? Research it!

House GOP gets a set of balls

I was impressed that the House Republican leadership grew a set, and voted unanimously against the Generational Theft Act of 2009. Not only that, they brought eleven Blue-Dog Democrats with them against that huge Bill of Pork. It wasn't enough to stop the bill from being passed, but the Dems now "own" whatever happens next. Today was a huge victory for conservatism! Hip-hip-hooray!

So much for a honeymoon for Obama.

Speaking of Obama, the thing that scares me the most is that people worship this guy. Obama has a four-year rental on the White House, at the least. Watching the media on inauguration day practically tear their rotator cuffs by shaking their pro-Obama pom-poms, and then all the cultists shed tears, I am just in awe. Not in awe of Obama, but the fact that Americans can have the wool pulled over their eyes so easily. This is not normal, the President...any President...is just a man. That's it. He's not a Messiah (as much as you think he might be).

"It's historic", they say. And it is. He is the first black man to be elected President. That's cool. He is also a flaming liberal. I don't want flaming liberalism to succeed, I'm sorry. I just don't want any part of it.

It's going to be a fun four years.
